Fall in Kentucky

Before the beautiful fall landscape disappears
I wanted to capture some of the beauty of Fall in LBL.

We headed north and found this great little cafe in Crofton, KY.
Great home-cooking, southern style!

Found a few barns to capture in my camera.

The colors were vibrant and in full abundance for our late October ride.
The trees have mostly loss their leaves by mid-November this year.

Back in the Saddle Again

Fall has arrived in Western Kentucky and it has been wonderful weather!  We had the opportunity to ride in a Motorcycle rally this past Saturday.  The ride was a benefit for Bright Life, a farm near Princeton, KY, home to adults with disabilities.  We rode with 107 other bikes from Elkton, KY to the Bright Life farm.  Taking back roads, which we love, I was able to snap a few pictures.  I choose to take pictures of KY barns.

I was hoping to find some fall colors along the route, but, I
only spotted a few trees that had actually turned.

I have my finger's crossed that the weather will hold out and we will be
able to ride the next few weekends and see more fall colors in Kentucky!

Humming Birds and Flowers

Mother Nature is at it again.  She has found a way to entertain us with her amazing views.  Yesterday, I watched the Hummingbirds playing tag in my back yard.  Such small creatures, yet so very entertaining.  The spastic little birds are quite the challenge to photograph.

If you were wondering what I did with the lids to the pumpkin flower pots from my previous post, here they are.  This area is where the large subdivision sign is on our property.  The lids were sprayed with the clear coat, just like the rest of the pumpkins.

Purple Mums with Purple & Yellow Pansies.

The flowers in this picture are all Mother Nature's doing.  The flowers are growing on the property next to ours.

Hope you are enjoying the pictures - please leave your comments or questions!

A Look at Fall from the Harley

We actually ventured out on the bike this past weekend, braving the cooler temps that we have had here in western Kentucky.  To be honest, I'm not really thrilled to ride when I have to wear five layers of clothes.  It really gets to be quite cumbersome to get on and off the bike.  And trying to take pictures becomes a major pain.  But, the sun was out on Sunday and I believe the temp was in the low 60's when we began . . . so here are some pictures of the area between Cadiz and Hopkinsville.

This is my favorite picture from Sunday.  Just love those backroads!

Well, that's about it for this ride, we were only gone for a couple of hours and maybe 100 miles.  And it seems like the leaves are dropping quickly - which means the bareness of winter is upon us.  Hope you have been able to find some beautiful fall colors where you live!!

Fall and the New House

The view out my front door is so very colorful right now that I wanted to share it with you.  We are surrounded by a forest of trees and most of them have turned colors this past week.  With the rain and cold we are having, the leaves will probably be short lived.

I am making great strides in clearing my living area of boxes.  It is so nice to see an orderly room for a change.
