Kentucky Cumberland Ferry

After getting a late start (11:30 am) today, we headed North to Kentucky.
There is a great little Ferry that crosses the Cumberland River on
Hwy 214 near Tompkinsville, KY. The Ferry, whose name is Sloan, can
transport 2 cars (and a Harley) accross the river.

The roads up to the Ferry are excellent entertainment for the
motorcycle rider. Not to mention, once you hit the Kentucky
State line it is NHR!

Once you cross the Cumberland, the road (Hwy 214) becomes a
rollercoaster of fun curves and hills. The scenery is beautiful!
It was an awesome day for a bike ride, with temperatures
staying in the 70's.
Check out the field of Buffalos we rode by . . .

The Tobacco season is coming to a close or at least the harvesting
of the Tobacco has begun. As you can see from my photos the
harvesting begins by cutting the stalks of Tobacco and creating a
small pile where each stalk had stood.

Hopefully I will be able to catch the next step in the harvesting
of Tobacco later this week.
All told, we added another 259 miles to our log and had a very
relaxing and fun-filled day on the Harley.
